  • Insurance Coverage:

Our services fall under the category of Psychological Services and are often covered by extended health insurance. For counselling services, we can direct bill certain insurance companies on your behalf, including ASEBP, Alberta Blue Cross, and Greenshield. For other insurance providers, you can independently seek reimbursement using the treatment receipt we provide. Please consult with our administrative staff for specific details when seeking our services.

    Direct Billing for Government Organizations:

We also offer direct billing for government organizations such as Family Services for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), Supports for Permanency, Children’s Services (social skills program only), and McMann Youth Services with an approved contract provided by the parent or agency.

  • Extended Health Insurance and Health Spending Accounts: Most Psychological Services are covered by extended health insurance or health spending accounts provided by your employer.

Government Organizations: Some government organizations, such as Family Services for Children with Disabilities, Supports for Permanency, Children’s Services (social skills program only), McMann Youth Services, etc., may cover the cost of psychological services for children and teens.

School Consultations: Consultations with schools regarding your child may be covered by the school or parent.

While we do not offer a "sliding scale" for the cost of services, if you encounter financial difficulties after engaging in regular treatment, please discuss this with your therapist or our administrative staff. We are committed to problem-solving with you to ensure that your child's treatment is not disrupted.

  • Yes, we require parental involvement in our treatment approach. We are a family-focused clinic, firmly believing in a collaborative team approach to help your child develop and achieve treatment goals. Working closely with both caregivers and the child, we collectively develop treatment goals, address issues, impart skills, and strive to achieve the desired outcomes. Your active participation is integral to the success of the therapeutic process.

  • Regardless of the parental relationship status, we require signed consent for treatment forms from each legal guardian to proceed with treatment. We believe in involving both parents/legal guardians in treatment to address your child’s issues and provide the best support possible for growth. We seek a commitment from both parents to work as a team for their child’s benefit. Any specific issues or situations can be discussed further with our administrative assistant prior to beginning treatment.

  • We strongly believe in working collaboratively with the caregivers in your child’s life to ensure they have the strongest support to practice and generalize new skills into their life. However, the inclusion of individuals who are not legal guardians can only occur after consultation with you and your child, and with written consent from both legal guardians.

  • Life can get busy, and we understand that unexpected circumstances arise, such as kids' activities, work commitments, illness, and more. While our policy is to be in regular contact with both parents (or alternating) during your child’s sessions, we recognize that occasional exceptions may be necessary. In such cases, we are happy to see your child even if a non-legal guardian brings them to the clinic. Communication is key, so please keep us informed about any changes in attendance or guardianship arrangements.

  • When committing to treatment for your child, please ensure you have plans in place to get your child to their scheduled session, even if you are unable to bring them. In the event that a child does not attend their scheduled counseling session with less than 48 hours notice, a session fee still applies. This policy is in place to maintain the treatment schedule for your child, ensuring they stay on track toward their goals. Additionally, it helps in accommodating other children in need, ensuring they can access appointments with the therapist. Your cooperation is appreciated in this regard.

  • We provide a comfortable front entry waiting room for our counseling clients and a separate waiting area for parents attending our group social skills sessions. In our front entry waiting room, you'll find coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and educational reading materials for parents. Once you've ensured your child has started their treatment session and connected with their clinician, feel free to utilize nearby amenities. There are several stores, coffee shops, etc., in close proximity. We kindly request that parents remain within a 10-minute drive from the clinic in case of emergencies and return to the clinic approximately 10 minutes before the session's scheduled end time to collect their child and have contact with the clinician.
